Ab 1982 präsentierte Thomas Gottschalk live aus dem Studio in München das temporeiche Show-Magazin "Na sowas!". Umrahmt von aktueller populärer Musik ging Gottschalk in seiner Show auf kuriose und skurrile Ereignisse aus allen Bereichen der Unterhaltung wie Mode, Film und Sport ein und interviewte zu diesen Themen Gäste im Studio.
