Aus Anlass des 25-jährigen Bühnenjubiläums fand in der Wiener Staatsoper 1992 eine Gala zu Ehren Plácido Domingos statt. Von und mit Marcel Prawy, der dabei durch den Abend führte. Der ORF übertrug die Veranstaltung live, bei der auch Udo Jürgens, Sopranistin Mara Zampieri und Bariton Piero Cappuccilli teilnahmen. Präsentiert werden Gesangsausschnitte von Giacomo Puccinis Fanciulla del West bis Wagners Lohengrin. Das Publikum beendete den Abend mit tosendem Applaus und standing ovations.
